Enlist
The system for or act of selecting qualified citizens for military service.
Enryo suru
Japanese term meaning  polite restraint, polite refusal or modesty. Enryo is a form of social control  that keeps one from imposing, expecting or demanding too much of another.
Evacuation
A euphemism used by the US government for the forced removal of all persons of  Japanese descent from their homes along the West Coast in early 1942. The term  implies that the removal was performed as a precaution for the safety of  Japanese immigrants and Japanese  Americans. Mass removal and exclusion are more accurate terms for  the event.
Exclusion
The forced relocation of all persons of Japanese  descent from their homes along the West Coast to incarceration centers in early 1942. Also, mass removal. See also evacuation.
Executive Order 9066
Signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on February  19, 1942, the Order established restricted military areas along the West Coast  and thus paved the way for the mass incarceration of about 120,000 Japanese immigrants and Japanese Americans in  remote incarceration centers.  
European Theater
Term used to refer to all campaigns and actions in Europe during WWII, including those prior  to US involvement.
European Theater of Operations, United States Army  (ETOUSA)
Also, European Theater of Operations (ETO). Official  term used by the US Army to refer to US military activity in Europe from 1942  to 1945, north of Italy and the Mediterranean coast.
