Lighting a New Future

In early 2027, Go For Broke National Education Center will open its new, permanent home in the Go For Broke Plaza, adjacent to the Go For Broke Monument, in partnership with the Little Tokyo Service Center. We invite you to secure the Japanese American WWII veterans’ legacy through the campaign for our new home.

Please respond by November 6, 2026, to be part of this special campaign.

Our Future

Our Lighting a New Future Campaign honors our core mission to remember, educate, and inspire. To achieve this vision, support is needed in two distinct ways:
  • Annual Giving (Memberships & General Donations): Funds our immediate, yearly operations to keep our doors open and sustain our vital mission.
  • Capital Campaign: Invests in our permanent foundation to enhance our reach, upgrade infrastructure, and secure our long-term future
Annual gifts maintain our present. This Campaign accelerates our future and will allow us to:
  • Expand our reach: Launch a dynamic slate of new workshops, exhibits, symposiums, performances, and community events
  • Establish key partnerships: Build innovative collaborations across the county to amplify our message
  • Inspire the next generation: Create engaging, relevant ways to bring this history to younger audiences from all backgrounds
  • Dedicate a Wall of Service: Complementing the Go For Broke Monument listing of the 16,000 Japanese American WWII veterans who served in the Pacific and European theaters, the new Wall of Service will list the approximately 17,000 who did not serve overseas but remain a vital part of the story
  • Secure our legacy: Strengthen our endowment to guarantee  long-term growth and sustainability

Our New Home

In early 2027, Go For Broke National Education Center will open its new, rent-free permanent home in the Go For Broke Plaza, adjacent to the Go For Broke Monument. Built in partnership with the Little Tokyo Service Center, this project realizes a decades-long community effort funded through tax credits, public grants, and private investments.
Expanding on the City of Los Angeles lease secured by our veterans close to 30 years ago, our new 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility features:
  • Multipurpose Room
  • Learning Hall
  • Resource Library
  • Collections Room
  • Conference Rooms
