About
Go For Broke National Education Center’s Evening of Aloha is our largest fundraising activity of the year and provides vital direct support of our historic preservation efforts, engaging programming and enhanced outreach to younger, more diverse audiences. We honor the courage, patriotism and sacrifice of our Japanese American WWII veterans at the hallmark annual event.
Over 500 supporters gathered for our 24th Annual Evening of Aloha Gala to honor the legacy of our Nisei WWII veterans. We celebrated three amazing centenarian heroes—Toke Yoshihashi (100th Bn.), Ed Nakamura (MIS), and Mary Tamura (Cadet Nurse Corps)—and recognized 32 living veterans nationwide. The event recognized 32 Nisei veterans living across the nation and highlighted our work sharing the Go For Broke spirit and legacy. From powerful performances to heartfelt testimonies, the evening reminded us why this story matters more than ever. It was an unforgettable community gathering with our veterans and their families, sponsors, performers, volunteers, and first- and long-time guests in attendance. Thank you to all of our 2025 Gala supporters for their generous contributions and shared commitment to ensure the Nisei WWII veterans legacy is not forgotten.
Help us meet our 2025 fundraising goals with a gift that will benefit generations to come!
Make a contribution to our annual year-end fundraising initiative to ensure that our vital work continues to preserve and evolve the story of the Nisei soldiers as an important American story. With your support, Go For Broke National Education Center will be able to inspire new audiences through the character and valor of the Nisei soldiers who fought for the freedoms and liberties for all Americans.
