Partial Transcript: At Camp Savage, Yoshio is assigned to Headquarter Company and does clerical work. He does morning reports and supplies inventory. Morning report is checking and recording schedules of soldiers. When a new outfit comes to Camp Savage, Yoshio makes sure they are well equipped with supplies. Yoshio is inducted into the Army in 1941. Yoshio recalls John Aiso being inducted at the same time because he sees him at Fort MacArthur. Later Yoshio goes to Fort Ord for basic training. John Aiso is at basic training too.

If Yoshio is asked to go into the fields, he says he would go.

At the wedding, Yoshio and his wife have about a dozen friends there. In Minnesota, Yoshio's wife does housework. Yoshio does not recall how he learns the war is over or the Peace Treaty signing, but possibly from the radio news. When he hears the war has ended, he hopes to go home soon. However, his wife is pregnant and cannot travel. They stayed in Minneapolis until their daughter was born in January 1945.
