Thank you to all of our supporters, sponsors, veterans and their families for a successful Evening of Aloha!

Overview

OKAGE SAMA DE: Because of You, I Am
This popular Japanese saying conveys our gratitude to our Nisei veterans. This year is the 75th anniversary of the 100th Infantry Battalion's first battle as well as the formation of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. It is also the 30th anniversary of the passage of H.R. 442, the Civil Liberties Act of 1988, a landmark bill that provided an unprecedented apology and reparations to Japanese Americans for their unjust incarceration during World War II. The sacrifices of our WWII veterans were critical to the successful passage of the bill. Our veterans are the heart and the foundation of the community and because of them, we are who we are today.
