COOKBOOK RECIPES (order cookbook)
Fresh Strawberry Squares
Crust:
2 blocks butter
4 Tbsp. powdered sugar
2 cups flour
Filling:
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
3 cups water
Pinch of salt
2 pkgs. (3 oz. each) Strawberry Jell-O
3 small baskets of strawberries
1 tub Cool Whip
For crust: Cream butter and sugar. Add flour and mix together. Pat mixture down in 9x13 inch baking pan and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees or until golden brown. Cool.
For filling: Cook filling ingredients except Jell-O in a pot on medium heat, stirring constantly until it boils. Remove from heat and add Jell-O and mix well. When mixture is cooled, place in refrigerator for about 10 minutes to let it thicken.
Remove stems from strawberries; wash and dry. Cut strawberries in half and lay them on the cooled crust. Pour thickened mixture over strawberries and refrigerate. When firm, top with Cool Whip.
