Tostito Kakimochi
1 bag Tostitos
1 cube unsalted butter
½ cut white Karo syrup
½ cup white sugar
2 Tbsp. Soy sauce
2 to 3 Tbsp. Kuro goma (black sesame seeds)
Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan on medium heat. Add sugar, syrup and soy sauce. After sugar is completely dissolved, add goma. Let it boil just a little bit. Pour ½ bag of the chips in large mixing bowl and mix with ½ of the syrup until coated. Place in aluminum roasting pan lightly sprayed with Pam. Repeat with the rest of the chips and syrup. Mix chips once more before placing in oven. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Stir every 12 minutes. With a flat tip mixing spoon or shamoji (wooden paddle). After removing from oven, keep stirring kakimochi (rise crackers) until it separates. You can tell by the sound when you can stop stirring. Enjoy!
Store the kakimochi in a large Ziploc bag.
