EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Go For Broke National Education Center – Torrance, California

Position:
Web/IT Associate

Reports to:
Technology Specialist

Major Duties:

  • Update website content
  • Design and develop new web pages and scripts
  • Setup and maintain computer hardware and software
  • Act as liaison between web department and staff

Time Commitment:
Part-time (20 hours/week)

Qualifications:

  • Excellent computer skills
  • Web design and/or Flash experience (Actionscript knowledge is a plus)
  • Very strong attention to details
  • Good proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Desire to learn about Japanese American history

Organizational Background
The Go For Broke National Education Center teaches and preserves the American story and legacy of American veterans of Japanese ancestry whose heroism and sacrifices during World War II triumphed over racism and intolerance. Through its education programs, current and future generations learn what it means to be an American and about the importance of civil liberties and racial tolerance.

Programs and services include: Hanashi Oral History Program, An American Story Teacher Training Program, Historical Archive on its website, www.GoForBroke.org, Go For Broke Monument, Resource Center, Publications, Documentaries, Collections Archive and Volunteer Program.
