EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Go For Broke National Education Center – Torrance, California

Position:
Finance Manager

Reports to:
Chief Operating Officer

Time Commitment:
40 hours, flexible to work some evenings and weekends

Compensation: DOE

Major Duties:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Preparing the annual budget
  • Responsible for processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare weekly cash flow schedule and accounts payable aging report
  • Measure, analyze and forecast financial performance
  • Oversee timely processing of revenue
  • Oversee annual audit with external auditors
  • Monitor investments and bank accounts
  • Monitor and track grant funding
  • Perform account reconciliations and analysis
  • Process payroll and payroll allocations semi-monthly
  • Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Establish and maintain internal controls
  • Ensure GAAP, SOX and regulatory compliance
  • Review and file quarterly sales tax return, annual payroll tax report (W2, 1099, 1096) and annual earnings
  • report for independent contractors, vendors, etc.
  • Manage Raiser's Edge (as needed)
  • Produce ad hoc analysis as needed

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • 3-4 years general accounting experience (required)
  • Non-profit accounting experience (preferred)
  • CPA or MBA (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate plans and policies and analyze and make sound recommendations on complex problems
  • Experience preparing documentation and schedules for independent audit
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Intuit Quickbooks or similar account applications
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate leadership in modeling a consistent positive attitude, "go for broke" spirit, and a strong work ethic
