Go For Broke National Education Center – Torrance, California
Position:
Director of Operations
Reports to:
President and CEO
Major Duties:
- Office management and internal communications: oversee general operations, updates and enforces internal policies and procedures, supports two department heads in implementation and operations
- Board relations: provide operational support for all board entities and committees that include board of directors, board of governors and its committees
- Finance & Budget: plan, develop and implement strategies for financial, operational management and development. Work on annual budget process; develop systems to efficiently track budgets and timelines, manage and control departmental expenditures within agreed budgets
- Human Resources: responsible for payroll, benefits, orientation, and all employment requirements. Manage contractors and vendors

Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to motivate others and manage financial and human resources effectively and responsibly to achieve established goals and objectives.
- Skilled in thinking strategically and developing practical solutions, taking into consideration short- and long-term requirements, peripheral concerns, and changing priorities and trends.
- Ability to analyze issues and recommend courses of action.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to make good decisions in a timely manner under pressure of deadlines.
- Knowledge of the principles and objectives of (1) project planning, (2) properties and facilities coordination, (3) human resources management
- Ability to develop strategies for the delivery of superior customer service.
- Ability to work effectively without supervision.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of management experience, including fiscal and organizational management.
- Nonprofit executive management experience preferred but not required
- Self motivator, results-oriented, multi-tasker
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and written skills for reaching diverse populations
- Excellent computer skills – MS Office required and raisers edge a plus
- Consistent positive attitude and a strong work ethic a must.

Through its education programs, current and future generations learn what it means to be an American and about the importance of civil liberties and racial tolerance.
