FRIENDS OF GO FOR BROKE HOSTS "IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE"
DINNER/DANCE FEATURING "HIROSHIMA" AND "CARRY ON"

(Los Angeles – August 3, 2006) – On Saturday September 16 "Friends of Go For Broke," a small group of Sansei brought together to raise funds for the Go For Broke National Education Center, is sponsoring "In Grateful Remembrance" a benefit dinner/dance featuring world renowned jazz fusion band "Hiroshima" and the popular local Asian American band from the 1970s, "Carry On." The event will be held at the Culver City Veterans Auditorium.

"Friends of Go For Broke came about because a few of us Sansei wanted to do something for the Nisei WWII veterans," said Stan Yonemoto, chairperson of the event and a board member of the Go For Broke National Education Center. "My father was in the MIS and the Sansei and Yonsei generations need to support the mission of the Go For Broke National Education Center to ensure the legacy of the men who served in the 100th Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and the Military Intelligence Service is preserved and taught to future generations. We need to remember our fathers and uncles who gave so much so that we would have a better life."

Dinner, catered by Don Tahara of Chop Suey Café & Lounge, will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by a concert by "Hiroshima" and a dance featuring the sounds of "Carry On." Mikawaya and King's Hawaiian Bakery will provide tasty desserts and Toyo Miyatake Studios will take commemorative photos. A value-packed raffle will be offered at the event and all attendees will receive a complementary membership to the Go For Broke National Education Center and a trial subscription to the Rafu Shimpo newspaper. A limited number of permanent tables of 10 persons (that will remain all night) are available for $1,250 if reserved by August 26, after this date $1,350. General admission before August 26 is $100 per person; $110 after this date. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Commemorative booklet ads and sponsorship opportunities are also available. The Go For Broke National Education Center is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization and a portion of the costs are tax-deductible.
