Evening of Aloha Guests Can Win a New Lexus Hybrid, Bid for Luxury Travel
Go For Broke National Education Center hosts 20th Anniversary dinner on Nov. 14

TORRANCE, CA (Nov. 4, 2009) – A brand-new 2010 Lexus HS 250h, the world's first luxury hybrid, and a Dream Vacation for two via American Airlines and Small Luxury Hotels of the World are among more than 200 items guests at the upcoming Evening of Aloha can win. The 20th anniversary gala dinner hosted by Go For Broke National Education Center (GFBNEC) is set for Nov. 14, 2009 at the Anaheim Hilton, 777 Convention Way, Anaheim, CA 92802. Lexus' groundbreaking hybrid elevates sustainable luxury for the auto industry. The Lexus hybrid will be awarded in a special opportunity draw at Evening of Aloha. Entrants need not be present to win. The Dream Vacation for two will be the only live auction item at this year's Evening of Aloha. The vacation package, valued at $25,000.00, features two business-class tickets to any American Airlines destination in the world, excluding Hawaii, Italy and Spain, and four nights at any Small Luxury Hotels of the World property. Silent-auction offerings include:

  • international travel, e.g., choice of five resorts in the Caribbean,
  • travel within the United States, e.g., Hawaii, La Jolla, Las Vegas, Palm Desert,
  • restaurants,
  • wines and wine tastings,
  • entertainment activities and events,
  • live-audience tickets and collectible items for television shows,
  • jewelry and fashion accessories,

The highlight of the Evening of Aloha program will be a special tribute to Nisei or second-generation Japanese American soldiers. Guests will dine on foods prepared by celebrated chefs Roy Yamaguchi of Roy's Restaurants worldwide and Charles Phan of San Francisco's Slanted Door, followed by an irresistible dessert from King's Hawaiian Bakery and Restaurant. They'll be entertained by Grammy-award winners Daniel Ho and Tia Carrere and charmed by master of ceremonies Gordon Tokumatsu, an Emmy-award winning reporter for Channel 4 News on NBC4 in Los Angeles.
