The Go For Broke Monument stands as a silent reminder of an important chapter in our country�s history when young men answered their country�s call with unmatched loyalty and courage, even though their country had little loyalty to them.

It is our duty to ensure that the Monument is maintained in a suitable fashion that is befitting the men it represents.

There are many expenses in maintaining our Monument, including polishing and sealing the granite, maintaining light fixtures and the kiosk, electricity, and landscape maintenance.

Today, while the Go For Broke Monument stands as a majestic testament to an extraordinary generation of men, it is showing the ravages of time and weather.

For the past few years there have been intermittent lighting problems caused by condensation in the fixtures, and now, we cannot fly the flag in the evening because so many lights do not work.

This year, our goal is to fix those electrical problems by replacing the aging light fixtures with new LED light fixtures. While there is significant upfront cost, it is the right solution because:

LED bulbs are energy efficient and last for 20 years, which will significantly reduce our electric bill;
LED bulbs emit very little heat, which will curtail condensation problems;
The fixtures will be sealed, which will prevent rainwater from seeping in and causing electrical shorts.

We ask for your support of our "En{Light}en" Effort to raise $35,000 to fix the 35 light fixtures that surround the Monument so that it can once again stand proudly � day and night � as a reminder of the patriotism, sacrifice and bravery of an exceptional group of young Americans whose legacy challenges us to redefine the meaning of citizenship.
